Since
1995, Alyson Adventures has offered
active, outdoor vacations and holidays for gay men, lesbians,
and friends.
Company
founder Sasha Alyson (left) already had a long history
of involvement in the gay community. In 1980 he founded
Alyson Publications, one of the country's earliest and
most influential gay publishing companies, issuing some
of the first books for gay teenagers (One Teenager
in Ten; Reflections of a Rock Lobster), for children
of gay and lesbian parents (Daddy's Roommate, Heather
Has Two Mommies), for black gay men (In The Life;
Brother to Brother), and for other groups largely
ignored in literature. He also founded Bay Windows,
Boston's gay newspaper.
Today,
Alyson Adventures
continues to break new ground, greatly expanding the
range of holiday and travel opportunities available to gay
men and lesbians. We offer the camaraderie of group travel,
while also preserving the flexibility, challenge, and choices
usually associated with solo travel. Our repeated awards
from Out & About, the gay travel newsletter,
confirm that we've succeeded. So do comments from people
who have traveled with us. We hope you will soon be one
of them.
